Thomas Knauf Design is co-operation partner of the UAS Trier and in the frame of our possibilities we are supporting projects of the department for gem- and jewellery design. The menu links present the particular projects. 

The department of gem- and jewellery design in its connection of gem stone working with jewellery designing is unique in Germany. The environment with the international known city Idar-Oberstein and the region specialised in jewellery and gems was basing for locating the UAS in Trier, distance only 100 km.  By co-operation with manufacturing companies the students can get an overview on machine processing of jewellery and objects. So they learn about the technical possibilities for the serial production of their own design ideas and following are able to plan more providently to take the chances of cost-effective production.
